Beautiful restaurant with amazing food! Super easy to book and held our table after we let them know we would be late. Their service was amazing and there were so many delicious drink options (non-alcoholic and alcoholic!!). I also love the fact that you order on your phone through a QR code, makes it so much easier!! 🩷🩷🩷

Not our first time dining here. We love the atmosphere of this place. Prefer to seat on the outside area. Good Food with fresh ingridients. Happy with the service. And will be returning again in future.
I have to admit I don't have Korean food much. But lately I have been to a few places recently and I don't mind it but it's not my usual go to choice. Just wanted a change and see what the food was like.
Gungnam is decorated in a modern look with wood prominent throughout and outdoor dining in steel and timber. The space is squashed with tables, booths and chairs. You to be flexible to get in and out of booths. Watch your knees a couple of us hit our knees. The tables have a sunken bbq hotplace and an induction cook-top as well which makes the table small.
The service was mediocre and a little condescending or the tone was, we thought they should at least smile more. Compared to another Korean restaurant we went to the customer service are leagues apart.
We ordered the marinated Waygu to share between 3 and the serving size is ok, we ordered a spicy pork bulgogi and veggie croquettes. We finished everything. Overall the taste was ok, it didn't taste bad but servings small. If you are a big eater you are going to have to order more.
Oreo dessert was interesting, very little, fluffy and not filling. There are some "oh what was that, head turners which is good.
We liked it it's more 3 and a half star. Hmm whether or not we return again, we shall wait and see.
Parking at Westfield Carousel can be challenging even though there are lots of parking. If you want to spend time here make sure you have the app or public transport. Parking can be expensive here.
Toilets are located nearby on the same level but not in the restaurant.
What a wonderful experience. Ordered the combination set for the barbeque and it was great. It did take a while to get seated, waiting upwards of 10-15 mins, but that was perhaps because it was busy. After being seated, the service was great and the staff was considerate. The whole restaurant atmosphere was great and homely. Would definitely recommend eating here.
I ordered the chicken bibimbap (Korean rice bowl) with no extra add ons for $22.
The way to order your food was to use a QR code which was very convenient. The website is easy to use and most food on the menu had a picture. The food was served very quickly and the portion was on the larger scale which somewhat justified the pricing.
The food tasted very pleasant for what was served. It essential is a basic rice dish however I I feel like the dish could have benefited with more chicken as I found myself eating mainly the rice and vegetables halfway through the meal. I am paying $22 after all and would like to expect more meat. The stone bowl maintained the heat of the food which was a very good addition to the meal.
Overall the dish I had was:
-Bibimbap, a filling rice bowl served on a stone bowl
-Served very quickly and used QR code to order
-Could have had more meat for the price
1. Waited at the door for 10mins, no one greeted us. The group had a booking behind us was queuing there being ignored too.
2. The table is sticky and disgusting.
3. Scissor provided needs replacement, the owner is not updating culteries.
4. Food overpriced.
5. Portion ridiculously small.
5.1 The lettuce in the photo was 2 serves, 6-8pieces, very small in size, $4. Imagine you could get a whole lettuce for $4 from wws.
5.2 The sweetcorn served in a dodgy plate which made it seems a lot until you dig it out. Forgot price, something like $10
5.3 The pork belly in the photo was actually very very thin, $24-$25 just for those 3 pieces
5.4 Beef was also small in size but they use very small plates to make it seem ample
5.5 Chicken thigh, $24-$25, just a medium drumstick without bone, marinated. Still ridiculously overpriced.
6. Dumbest staff I've ever seen. Pressed the service bell and waved our hands for 5 mins. No one came. Staff were walking around just didn't want to take a look at other tables. They'd rather play with their phones behind the counter. No service at all. The staff from IPUDO next door are much better.
7. They charge for dipping sauce!!!!!! How stingy the owner is!!! Not everyone here deserves their own dipping sauce. Two need to share one dipping sauce. You will have to pay extra for the sauce if you require more. $1 each. It's like a chinese restaurant charging for soy sauce and vinegar. And like a fish and chips store charging for chicken salt.
If you haven't been to a good Korean BBQ restaurant, there is a few in Northbridge which provides much better service and reasonablely priced food. All the 5-star reviews for this particular shop seem not genuine or useless to me.
Went there for a friends birthday Saturday night. Food was amazing and came out quickly. I ordered a beef dish with sweet potato noodles(can’t remember the name of it) but it was delicious! I also ordered fried mini dumplings and vegetable croquettes which were extremely crispy, and very tasty. Left feeling very full and happy.
